Commission Info

If you would like to hire me for a private/personal commission, please read through this page to overview my services and current rates.

Each service is considered a commissioned piece.

Each commission is determined by a few factors:

1. cost of materials

2. intricacy of the design

3. working conditions

A commission is an act of requesting the creation of a piece, often on behalf of another or self. Artwork may be commissioned by private individuals, by the government, or by businesses.

Please, understand, requesting a commission does not guarantee one to the service. The artist must approve each request based on availability, size, location, time, and the piece itself.

Before Ordering
Make sure to read this page in its entirety.  These terms apply to private/personal commissions only.  This information is NOT applicable for commercial work therefore the art can only be used for the client's personal purposes.

When I have commission slots available, you can use the form on the Booking Request page to order.  Please be aware that the form is just sending me an e-mail with your commission request.  Once I have received your e-mail I will get back to you with an estimate of the final price which you then agree upon.  If I cannot take your commission for any reason I will let you know as well.

All prices are base prices and include a single figure/character/portrait.  Things that might increase the price are the complexity of design, color, additional figures, inability to provide a good visual reference, complexity to the background, amount of detail in the image in general.

For private commissions, I do not accept orders if the commissioner cannot provide a visual reference of the character/ person to be portrayed in the portrait.

Each piece may vary per customer request and artist ability/availability of materials and time. Portraits range from charcoal, soft pastel, and color pencil, which are also mixed amongst the three to achieve the desired result. Customers must provide a clear and brightly lit image and explain what it is they can visualize what it is they want out of the piece. The Portrait Artist doesn't mind "making it their own" but would still appreciate the customer's preference, thoughts, and views incorporated in a piece they are having commissioned. Each portrait will be finished with a garnish for protection and placed in a beautiful black frame that can be hung or have the kickstand utilized with ease.

Reach out to the artist for further information regarding your piece and to schedule a date to begin. To guarantee a timely completion date, the customer should place a deadline with the artist at the time of each request submitted.

Short-notice scheduling will require an additional charge at the time of deposit. The Portrait Artist will discuss this additional charge first before they accept the short-notice commission.

Note: Customers must place all deposits (50% of the full price) at the time of placing an order. The artist and customer understand that the customer must pay the total price at the time of or before pick-up/delivery. That deposit will be used to purchase the supplies needed for the completion of the commission.

IMPORTANT::

The initial consultation is free of charge. During the consultation, we will discuss the project at length to have a time and cost estimate. After, I will provide you (the customer) with digital sketches and design ideas to best determine the exact design.

Once we have reached an agreement to start, a contract quite similar to these terms will be presented and signed with details of the work being done, along with a project start and estimated end date on an invoice.

ALL DEPOSITS MUST BE PLACED WITHIN FIVE (5) DAYS OF APPROVED DRAFT OR THE COMMISSION WILL BE CANCELED UNLESS DISCUSSED AND AGREED UPON WITH THE ARTIST ABOUT A DIFFERENT PAYMENT ARRANGEMENT.  *If the commission is canceled, the draft can be modified and sold in other means at lower prices.

Once all the work is completed, payment in full is expected.

(We can work out a payment plan if that will help you bring ideas to life.)

This form can be changed at any time at the discretion of the owner/artist.
